Hello!

I wanted to do an initial blog post just as a little introduction to us and our lives so you can get to know us a bit better and understand the reason for me creating this blog. I am very new to all of this so please bare with me! I wouldn’t be lying if I said it took me about half an hour to even understand how to write a new post on here.

Sooo, some of you may have been directed here from our Instagram page @thebabyandthehound (formerly @jax_the_beaglex). I initially set up Jax’s Instagram back in 2017 when we got him as a dedicated place that I could post lots of photos of him as to not annoy those people who don’t want to see pictures of peoples dogs all the time (Yes, they do exist!?). His Instagram has been going strong ever since and I have met a lot of great people through it and I have to say I have really enjoyed sharing his life with everyone so far.

Myself and Liam have always enjoyed the outdoors and going on looong walks and just appreciating the country that we live in so it was no shock that once we got Jax that we continued these adventures with Jax in tow. The day we actually messaged the breeder to enquire about getting Jax we were climbing Ben Venue, we had initially set out to climb Ben Lomond but we got lost but that is a whole other story entirely including a low phone battery and google maps haha! Anyway, the next day we went to go view 6 Beagle puppies and they were all so adorable we just couldn’t choose. Whenever we talk about it we always say Jax chose us as he just waddled up to me and on to my lap to go for a nap and how can you say no to that!

Fast forward a year and a bit, I fell pregnant and Jax fell in love with the tiny human in my belly. The whole way through my pregnancy Jax was by my side and using ‘the bump’ as a pillow and resting place for his head. Marley was meant to arrive after Jax’s second birthday on 22nd January, however, after some last minute complications he had to be delivered 4 weeks early which was a shock to everyone including Jax! Since the minute we brought Marley home him and Jax have been inseparable so it felt only right to create their joint Instagram to share their lovely friendship with everyone.

My hope for this blog is first and foremost to share Jax and Marley’s adventures and their lives growing up but also to share our different walks, our day to day lives, and just general goings on with everyone. I am always getting asked where we have been/where we are going so I think this is a great place to talk about these places and give recommendations in more detail.
